COVID-19 UPDATES – THE INJURY CLINIC

All updates regarding the impact of COVID-19 on The Injury Clinic can be found below. If you have specific questions, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our Clinic Manager, Kim Faull (kim@theinjuryclinic.com.au) to discuss further.

UPDATE: 04.08.20 11:30am

Stage 3 COVID-19 restrictions come into effect for regional Victoria at 11:59pm this Wednesday August 5th.

Please see below for an overview of the impact of these restrictions:

PHYSIOTHERAPY

The provision of physiotherapy services is unaffected at this time. We are continuing to provide face to face consults, and offer video consults where appropriate or necessary.

We are continuing to respect social distancing recommendations, masks are mandatory for all staff and clients attending the clinic, and we continue to adhere to strict hygiene measures.

A video consult may be suggested by your treating practitioner if appropriate. This is done to reduce the number of clients a practitioner has face to face contact with per day.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Strength & Conditioning at The Injury Clinic has been affected and changes to the provision of this service have been made accordingly.

Those impacted by these changes have been notified via both email and text message.

DIETETICS

Our Dietitian has been working remotely from QLD as a result of her current role within the AFL. The provision of Dietetics is therefore unchanged, and remains via video only.

Current hours of operation are as follows:

Monday: 6am – 7pm

Tuesday: 2pm – 7pm

Wednesday: 6am – 7pm

Thursday: 8am – 7pm

Friday: 6am – 7pm

Saturday: Closed

We will continue to provide updates as the situation changes. Please rest assured we are doing everything we can to keep clients and staff safe, and adhere to government recommendations and restrictions.

If you have any specific queries or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

UPDATE: 20.07.20 7:30am

The Team at The Injury Clinic will now all be in surgical masks

Whilst we appreciate that the wearing of masks has only been made mandatory for Metro Melbourne & the Mitchell Shire, masks (or a face covering) have been recommended in Regional Victoria in situations when social distancing isn’t possible. Many of the interactions we have with clients make social distancing very difficult.

We ask that ALL clients attending the clinic also follow this recommendation. The wearing of a mask or face covering when attending an appointment will be mandatory as of Monday July 27th.

This does not yet apply to those using the gym, however we ask that they start to experiment with a face covering that they would be comfortable to exercise in, as this may become necessary in the coming weeks.

All of the procedures we are putting in place are to keep both staff and clients safe and well, and the clinic able to continue to provide a service to our community.

We thank you all for your ongoing support and understanding.

Bookings for both face to face and video consultations can be made either online or via the phone.

Current hours of operation are as follows:

Monday: 6am – 7pm

Tuesday: 2pm – 7pm

Wednesday: 6am – 7pm

Saturday: Closed

We will continue to provide updates as the situation changes. Please rest assured we are doing everything we can to keep clients and staff safe, and adhere to government recommendations and restrictions.

The Injury Clinic is continuing to conduct video consultations where possible. Video consultations are currently available for physiotherapy, dietetics and strength & conditioning.

Face to face consults are still available, but in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 within the community, we believe that conducting video consults where possible, and limiting contact with clients, is the right thing to do for both clients and the team at The Injury Clinic.

Bookings for both face to face and video consultations can be made online, or via the phone.

Gym use at The Injury Clinic remains unavailable, with gym members instead having access to weekly online strength sessions, classes and consults.

We will continue to provide updates as the situation changes.

UPDATE: 27.04.20 7:00am

The Injury Clinic is continuing to offer predominantly video consultations. Video consultations are currently available for physiotherapy, dietetics and strength & conditioning.

Face to face consults are still available, but in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 within the community, we believe that transitioning to video consults where possible, and limiting contact with clients, is the right thing to do.

Clinicians will use their discretion to determine the situations in which face to face consults are appropriate. Please rest assured that if a face to face assessment or treatment is determined to be necessary in the management of your injury, it will be discussed with you, and arranged by your treating clinician. We will endeavour to offer the same, or next day appointments for acute presentations.

If you require a face to face consult, please discuss this with administration staff at the time of arranging your consult. Online bookings are currently available for Video Consultations only. You must call to arrange a face to face consult.

UPDATE: 31.03.20 11:30am

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, The Injury Clinic will be transitioning to offer predominantly video consultations. Video consultations will be available for physiotherapy, dietetics and strength & conditioning.

Our lives may be looking more and more different, but that doesn’t mean we won’t have niggles, won’t get injured or won’t be able to stay strong, fit and healthy. We are confident that whilst video consults will be different from face to face consults, we can still offer a valuable service that will make a difference to the health and wellbeing of our clients whilst not placing them, their families, or the team at The Injury Clinic at risk.

Face to face consults will still be available, but in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 within the community, we believe that transitioning to video consults where possible, and limiting contact with clients, is the right thing to do.

Clinicians will use their discretion to determine the situations in which face to face consults are appropriate. Please rest assured that if a face to face assessment or treatment is determined to be integral to the management of your injury, it will be discussed with you, and arranged by your treating clinician.

We will continue to provide updates as the situation changes.

UPDATE: 25.03.20 9:30am

The Injury Clinic continues to operate as normal, however there will be changes to the use of the gym space at the clinic.

Current restrictions put in place by the Australian Government do not impact on the provision of physiotherapy services. We will continue to consult with respect for social distancing measures and emphasis on strict hygiene measures.

The use of the gym space at the clinic will be changing. Equipment is already placed a minimum of 1.7m apart, and the space allows us to adhere to number and size of space limitations (1 person per 4 sq m). We will however be capping numbers, this will be strictly enforced. An email will be sent to all clients that will be impacted by this today.

We will be offering video consultations at the request of clients starting Monday March 30th. As restrictions escalate, it is likely that all consults will be altered to be video consults. Stay tuned for more info.
