Joel graduated from The University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Physiotherapy, and has since worked in private practice throughout Melbourne, including 2 years at Werribee Football Club in the VFL, treating various injuries and managing rehab programs.

Joel is currently studying his PhD at Monash University completing studies to investigate the biomechanics and motor control patterns of athletes and everyday runners with Achilles tendinopathy. This research keeps us up to date with the latest findings that can be applied to the patients at The Injury Clinic.

Joel believes in an active approach and movement-based rehabilitation is the key to optimizing return to sport and everyday life with the philosophy to keep you active during your rehab or recovery. Joel utilizes hands on treatment and dry needling techniques during his treatment as well as strength and training based interventions to restore pain free movement and return to your best.

With a background in playing Australian rules football and having completed multiple half and full Marathons, Joel understands the impact that injury can have on time away from sport and aims to reduce this through professional and open-minded physiotherapy intervention.
