POST-PARTUM STRENGTH & FITNESS
At The Injury Clinic we know that being a mum presents some very real challenges when it comes to exercise. Not only are there significant physical changes that have happened to your body, but you also have to try and find the time to exercise! As every woman, pregnancy and birth is different, we can expect each woman to have a different post partum experience too.
With this in mind, Liz, one of The Injury Clinic’s Physiotherapists, has decided to run a post-partum strength and fitness workshop. As a mum of twins, she recognises the physical, mental and emotional challenges that come with strength and fitness in the post partum period; and as a Physio, she recognises post partum women need expert guidance to ensure a successful return to strength and fitness.
Women at any stage in the first two years following childbirth.
Pregnant women who are wanting to discuss the return to exercise post partum are also welcome.
An informal information session discussing post partum return to strength and fitness. We will discuss the reason why the post partum period is so unique and the content will be modified to suit the demographic of the group (depending on how long post partum the attendees are).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How many people will be at the session?
Due to the current situation with COVID-19, we will keep group numbers to a maximum of 10 (including children). This both enables an intimate environment to allow for specific questions and also ensures the session is easily adaptable to suit the group.
Can I bring my baby/children?
Yes, children are welcome to come, however it will depend on the numbers in the group and remaining spaces. Please let us know the age of the children who will be attending. It will be an informal session so we won’t be worried if your child cries, needs to be fed and are happy to lend a hand if needed!
Where will it be held?
We will hold the session in the gym at The Injury Clinic. This means there will be plenty of space for everyone and everything else that comes with having a baby!
Can I book out a session for my friends and I?
Of course! We are always happy to adapt sessions and make it whatever would suit you.
Does it matter what sort of birth I had?
Definitely not! While it may affect the exercises you complete early in your post partum journey, this session will largely be an educated session to ensure we are all on the same page.
