EFFECTIVE RECOVERY POSITIONS
How many of us have had our coach screaming at us ‘HANDS OFF KNEES’ ‘HANDS ON HEAD SO WE RECOVER BETTER’ when we are gasping for air during a hard training session?
It’s a phrase that has been used by a countless number of coaches over the years, with the belief that it puts us in a superior position to recover faster.
Although, a recent study has found that placing our hands on our knees puts our body in the best position possible to recover from fatigue at a quicker rate.
Next time we are recovering, rather than forcing ourselves to put our hands on our head, we can let out our body be in the position it actually wants to be in!
