The Injury Clinic ‘Run Club’ provides the opportunity to have fun and run. It is geared towards offering interval track running sessions to assist in improving run performance (and providing some variation to your running week!). There are many benefits to including speed/interval sessions into your training, including: running speed, efficiency etc.
Run Club sessions are informal. Physiotherapist Laura from The Injury Clinic will be down at the track to guide the session, but will most often be running as well! She will also be available for any questions you may have regarding running technique, injuries, niggles, load etc.
Run Club sessions are designed to be challenging yet achievable. You may complete some of it, you may complete all of it! We encourage everyone to consider their current running volume, goals, injury history, fatigue levels etc. when determining the pace they run and volume they complete.
It may not be appropriate that you complete the whole session every week. We want to see you there, but we also want to you train smart.
Everyone is welcome. However, we recommend that you are able to run a minimum of 6-8km comfortably, and have had a degree of consistency in your running volume for at least 8 weeks prior to adding a track session.
